Stock Journal in tally

• Stock Journal is a Journal in which all types of Stock Adjustments are entered.
• The stock adjustment may be due to Inter-Godown Transfer
• This is useful to transfer the goods from one location to another. The quantity of Stock remains the same, but the Location changes. Additional Cost/Expenses involved in the Transfer of goods.
• You can also account the additional cost incurred in connection of transfer of materials from one location to another.
• There may be a shortage or wastage of stock items, the quantity may have got changes. In such cases, you have to enter a stock journal to account for the increase or decrease in the Stock Item

Do the following entry: –

Purchase voucher (F9): –

Purchase goods on 1/4/2021 from Anupam Electronics with invoice bill no: SAM/APR/123 from Kanpur godown in UP are as follows. 

Gateway of tally —–> Vouchers —–> Purchase Voucher (F9)

Gateway of tally —–> Display more Report —–> Inventory Books ——> Locations or Godown ——> Kanpur

Sale Voucher (F8): –

On 1/6/2021, Sold goods to Galaxy electronics with Invoice bill no GAL/JUN/123 to Kanpur godown in UP are as follow.

Stock transfer (Alt + F7): –

On 2/6/2021, the following goods are transferred from Kanpur Godown to Pune Godown.

Physical Stock (Ctrl + F7) ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­: –

• A physical stock voucher is used to record the actual stock of a particular stock item.  In Other words, Physical stock refers to items that are actually present and available in a business warehouse.
• In the inventory books, the actual balance of stock in hand as on the date of voucher entry is shown and the difference in stock is automatically added as inwards or outwards as the case may be. The cause of discrepancy can be recorded in the narration field of the physical stock journal voucher.

 On 1/7/2021, after doing physical verification some goods found as wasted, So the final stock of goods available in the Pune godown are as listed below.
